Easter Sunday, Sunrise, Pestfurlong Hill
The forecast was for snow, but in the event, it started heavily overcast and a few degrees warmer than anticipated.  The snow was limited to the distant hills of the Pennines and the Peak District.  By 6.30 a.m. the clouds were melting away and the sun came out to welcome a cold but bright Easter morning.  We spent about 30 minutes in prayer, song and fellowship on the top of the hill.

The first 6 pictures above are of the group on Pestfurlong Hill.  Picture 7 shows a very wet M62 with the Manchester skyline and snow-clad hills beyond.  Picture 8 shows Holcombe Moor and Peel Tower near Bury under a layer of snow (click here to see the same view in summer 2007 taken by your website editor).  The final picture is of Encounter after the clouds had cleared away.

Son Rise Service, Pestfurlong Hill, Gorse Covert
Meet at Gorse Covert Mounds car park, opposite Falstone Close about 15 mins before.
Join us on Pestfurlong Hill, Gorse Covert on EASTER SUNDAY morning at 6.00 am (yes 0600 hrs!).  We’ll simply open the scriptures, spend some time in prayer, enjoy the sun rise (might be worth taking an umbrella this year!) and spend about 30 minutes with each other celebrating the fact that Jesus is Risen!!
