Easter "Sonrise" Service, Easter Sunday Morning, Pestfurlong Hill

Members of Birchwood Evangelical Church, which includes Gorse Covert Community Church, met early on Easter Sunday Morning on Pestfurlong Hill as dawn broke.  With scripture reading, prayer, song and fellowship, the group celebrated the fact that Jesus is risen and watched as the sun rose from behind the distant hills and emerged from the clouds on the horizon over the misty fields, heralding the day on which we commemorate Jesus' resurrection.

It's a reminder of the incredible love that God has for the world and its people. A love so great that God sacrificed His only son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross, paying the price for all our sins.  But the cross did not mean that Jesus was defeated - quite the opposite.  Jesus rose again from that death, He won the battle against sin, He took our side.  That is definitely worth celebrating.

"Sonrise" Special Service
Sunday 8th April, Pestfurlong Hill
Meet at 6.00am, yes 6.00am! at Gorse Covert Mounds car park opposite Falstone Close.
Short walk together to the top of Pestfurlong Hill.  When we get there we’ll simply open the scriptures, spend some time in prayer, enjoy the sun rise and spend about 30 minutes with each other celebrating the fact that Jesus is Risen!!
